ABOUT ANGELINA

About

I am a Melbourne-based Italian-Australian interdisciplinary contemporary artist with a PhD in Creative Writing, whose work explores texture, gestural mark-making, and immersive colour. Using palette knives, mixed media, and layered techniques, my practice produces large-scale, dynamic abstractions that engage with transformation, movement, and spatial relationships.

Practice & Exhibitions

My exhibitions span gallery and design settings, including Melbourne Design Week (NGV), Melbourne Design Show, Affordable Art Fair Melbourne, and numerous solo and group presentations within artist-led initiatives.

I have exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions Elastic Heart (Docklands Library, 2024), Migrant Women (Le Grange Gallery, 205), Dignity (Art2ArtSpace, 2024), Transience (Ladder Art Space, 2023), and Embers (Romulus Folio Gallery, 2025).

Her work is held in private collections throughout Australia and the Philippines, and she frequently collaborates with interior designers on both residential and non-residential projects.

Vision

My practice is grounded in transformation, both personal and collective.

Through art, I seek to build spaces of connection: between artist and viewer, past and present, seen and unseen. This vision extends to the intersection of art and design, where I use the power of myth to translate emotional depth into physical, spatial narratives that resonate within our living environments.

Art, to me, is an act of remembering, reframing and releasing a way to honour the quiet persistence of beauty and resilience that lives within us all.

Mark Alexander Design

I continue to collaborate with highly regarded Australian luxury interior designer and bespoke furniture maker, Mark Alexander, on select interior design projects. I create bespoke artworks that respond intimately to the mood, palette, and architecture of each space. These works exist at the meeting point of art and design, where surface becomes atmosphere, and texture translates into emotion. Mark provides the design concept for the textural extrusion and material-responsive colour concepts, and I respond with myth and emotional translation to create a spatial narrative.

Living Canvas Documentary

I am currently creating the documentary Living Canvas (working title), which explores the transformative power of art, with director and video editor Ben Hall. Filming has been expertly guided by Scott Ross and Samuel Galloway
