Flights of Love is a collaborative series by contemporary interdisciplinary artist, Angelina Mirabito and highly regarded luxury interior designer and bespoke furntiture maker Mark Alexander, uniting fine art and interior design through a shared devotion to beauty, movement, and form.

Guided by Alexander’s architectural sensibility and Mirabito’s emotive, textural approach to painting, the series invites the viewer on a journey of ascent, both structural and spiritual.

Inspired by the flowing curves of a staircase within one of Alexander’s luxury interiors, Flights of Love explores how space, light, and feeling intertwine. The paintings reflect the elevated perspectives that shared experiences of love, life, and beauty can awaken within us.

Drawing from the interplay of design, colour, texture, movement, and light, the works evoke the elegance of architectural rhythm while remaining rooted in the expressive freedom of painting. The collaboration draws subtle inspiration from Sandro Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, a symbol of emergence, harmony, and divine beauty, reimagined through contemporary abstraction.

Through palette knives, brushes, and layered texture, the staircase becomes a living metaphor for discovery and renewal. Each artwork captures the luminous moments that art, love, and beauty can awaken within us, a dialogue between two creative languages finding shared expression in form and feeling.
