Gladstone Artist in Residence – Reflections and Insights
Sunday 22nd June, 2–3pm
Join me for a conversation about my time as artist in residence at the Gladstone — a space in transition that has offered fertile ground for exploration, connection, and reimagining what a gallery can be.
This opportunity has been transformative not only in my own creative practice, but also in understanding the dynamics of gallery presentation. Having a bricks-and-mortar space has allowed Romulus Folio to present as a gallery in a tangible, embodied way — activating the space with thoughtful design, curation, and presence.
The residency has fostered collaboration, invited dialogue, and offered meaningful ways to connect with the local community — through open studios, workshops, and public events. It has brought together the often separate worlds of art-making and exhibition, turning the space itself into a collaborator.
Come along to hear how working within this living, transitional space has shaped the work — and me.
The exhibition and all events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all visitors.
